6to4 IPv6 Explained, or: Flogging a Dead Horse

6to4 is an easy way to get IPv6 connectivity for hosts that only have an IPv4 uplink. It can be used with static as well as dynamically assigned numbers, e.g. as found in modem dialup scenarios. When using dynamic v4 addresses, note that a dynamic change of IP numbers will be a problem for incoming traffic, i.e. you can't run persistent servers. Read More
