Adventures in Firewalling I recently installed what I would consider a fairly complex firewall. While there are already numerous articles, tutorials and the like available with regard to firewalls, this is a subject that I don't really feel can be covered too much. The following are some things I learned while putting this firewall together. It's by no means an exhaustive tutorial or otherwise, but hopefully it will be helpful to others trying to configure firewalls. This provides transparency and allows our firewall, which we maintain on the bridge, to securely filter incoming packets and forward them without modification to the internal destination. This guide walks through two typical home network connection setups (ADSL and cable modem) using OpenBSD 2.8. Read More Adventures in BSD: BSD in a Microsoft Office After tinkering with FreeBSD at home for a while, amidst all the noise and distractions that go with a family setting, I decided to see if I could install it on an unused pc at work. The logic being that I would have the chance to learn more about BSD/UNIX at work, since, like most of us in this day and age, this is where I spend the bulk of my time... Read More Hey!
