strange behavior when telnetting to FORE switch ver 7.1

hi,

i just upgraded my ATM switch (ASX-200BX) from ForeThought 6.0 to ForeThought 7.1. And i can't seem to telnet into the box anymore, i got kicked out once it says "Connected". However, after several tries, i manage to get in by putting the port number (23) behind the telnet command, and i got in. i m running FreeBSD 4.3-STABLE #3. Why is this so? And how do i come around this problem?

[bennyc@atm bennyc]$ atm show config
