Hi,

I have problem with preference bug (http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=5012893) in jdk-1.4.2p7_2 (build 1.4.2-p7-root_17_nov_2005_09_55, mixed mode).
jdk1.5  (jdk-1.5.0p2_3, build 1.5.0-p2-zach_03_jan_2006_14_12, mixed mode) seems to have this bug corrected however I have problems with GUI (awt probably) - once it crashed totally with registry dump (I'm not able to reproduce it unfortunately), now for example when trying to run idea5.0 get errors

Error during dispatching of java.awt.event.InvocationEvent[INVOCATION_DEFAULT,runnable=com.intellij.idea.Main$3@c3bb57,notifier=null,catchExceptions=false,when=1136374422512] on sun.awt.X11.XToolkit@10d0eae

previous version of jdk1.5 was a bit more stable but crashed too in some cases.

I'm going to use jdk1.5 (because of preferences bug) withou GUI (jetspeed2) but I need to know whether it is stable enough or a patch for 1.4 is planned.
